Custom Orders
Work directly with the designer Shermineh to create custom one-of-a-kind jewelry that is completely your own. Read on to learn more.
- What does a custom project include? Custom projects include a design entirely one of a kind that's made just for you, or modifications to Talāyee Fine Jewelry's existing designs.
-
Is there a minimum budget for custom orders?
-
- Fully custom projects require a minimum budget of $2,000 for gold pieces, and $600 for silver pieces. A $300 non refundable deposit is required to get started as this covers the time spent on designing your custom jewelry. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of your project. Once the design is approved, a full payment is required to begin production. Custom jewelry is non-refundable once the order is placed and non-returnable once the order is received.
- Modifications to existing Talāyee designs are priced based on the cost difference the changes incur. Full payment must be made once the design is approved. Custom jewelry is non-refundable once the order is placed and non-returnable once the order is received.
-
- How long will it take? Custom orders can take between 4-8 weeks depending on the scope and complexity of the project.
-
Can I repurpose my existing jewelry? Yes and no. The metal used in existing jewelry cannot be repurposed into your custom design. Most gold is an alloy, meaning that it is mixed with other metals to give it its strength and shine. It is hard to control for the metal color, texture, strength, and porosity without having it processed at a refinery first. Gemstones can be repurposed! Please reach out for more information on that process.
- Please be aware that shipping valuable items always carries a risk of a package getting lost, tampered with, or stolen. When shipping items to Talāyee Fine Jewelry, it is highly recommended to insure your packages, and use the shortest shipping option. FedEx overnight with signature required is a great option. Talāyee Fine Jewelry is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, or tampered with while in transit to Talāyee HQ.
- Can you work with a gemstone I source myself? Most likely no. It is best to work with us to source the stone of your dreams as we have deep knowledge of stone cut, shape, treatments, origins, ethical sourcing, and fair pricing. Using a gemstone that is poorly cut or has undisclosed treatments runs you the risk of having that stone damaged in the setting process.
- How do I get started? You can email hello.talayee@gmail.com with an idea of what you'd like for your custom project. This can include image inspiration, ideas you've been thinking up, guidelines around budget, and anything else that feels important to you.
Note that agreeing to a custom project by paying the invoice, you agree to all the specifications discussed during the design phase and that you understand all custom designs are final purchase and non refundable.
